Taiwan's National Communications Commission (NCC) plans to issue six 6-year WiMAX operating licenses at the end of July 2007 or no later than August 3, according to NCC chairman Yeong-chin Su.
In related news, enterprises participating in projects under the government-sponsored Mobile Taiwan (M-Taiwan) Program are gearing up deployment of WiMAX base stations, with a goal of setting up 1,000 stations in total in 2007, according to industry sources.
